Welcome to this update for our club’s players, parents/carers and supporters.
Weather & grounds
The weather has been unkind lately, forcing closures of our senior and junior grounds. The best way to check if training is on/off is to go to our website at www.cambridgefootball.co.nz.
Future Reds – Term 3
Term 3 of our Future Reds programme starts the week commencing July 23, and enrollments are now open.
The programme has two streams – Player Development sessions (Mondays) that are open to all boys and girls 6-13, and Skills Centre (Wednesday/Thursdays) which is by invitation for players aged 9-13.
AB Insurance Photo of the Month awards
Sponsor Annette Breen has enabled the club to run a Photo of the Month Award for June, July and August, with winners receiving $50
of movie tickets. The June entries are stunning and we announce our first winner tomorrow (Thursday) at our website.
Get your cameras out and send us your best photographs to win our July/August prizes.
Onyx Cambridge Volunteers of the Week awards
So far, we’ve named 11 of our 20 winners of this weekly award to recognise those volunteers who help keep our club running. Congratulations to our first 11 winners – Hamish Durran-Wolff, Jude Bower, Paul Blackstock, Cherie Clark, the D1 men’s team (shared), Mike Woodlock, Craig Clark, Louis Roberts, Stu Anthony, Andrew Taylor and Vanessa Payne.
This week’s winner was rather special – check out why here.
Click here if you want to know more about our volunteers or reply to this email if you want to know how you can join our volunteers.
Team photographs – August 1-2
Junior team photographs are scheduled for the afternoons of Wednesday August 1 and Thursday August 2 – please put these dates in your diary. Envelopes will be handed to coaches this weekend at the clubrooms.
The photographs will be taken at the senior clubrooms, and team coaches will advise parents of times.
Karaoke Night – Saturday August 4
Our U-19s are holding a karaoke night at the senior clubrooms to raise funds for their participation at the national youth tournament in Napier at Labour Weekend.
Quiz Night – Saturday August 11
Our club’s annual fundraiser is set for August 11. Click here for more details and to buy tickets.
Club events manager and sponsor John Courtney (Sportswear Direct) is looking for volunteers who can help us get ready for the big night.
The event will be held at Cambridge East School, and doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start.
The more volunteers, the better – contact John at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help.
The event is also a great opportunity for businesses to promote their goods/services by donating prizes – let John know if you see an opportunity!
