Cam and Kere are our latest Onyx Volunteers of the Week winners

Ever wondered how you work out what kit and gear you need to get more than 460 youngsters onto the football pitch for a successful season?

It’s a tough job. And few would know more about it than Cam and Kere McKinnon who have done a sterling job this year, keeping track of team kits, balls and all the equipment required to keep our junior players ready for action.

The couple carried out a comprehensive stocktake before the season started and after making sure all kit and gear was allocated for the winter season, they’ve begun the job of working out what we need for next season (and beyond).

The McKinnons are among the more than 100 volunteers who collectively contribute more than 30,000 hours a year of unpaid work to keep Cambridge FC running all-year.

For their efforts, they are our latest winners of an Onyx Cambridge-sponsored Volunteer of the Week award.

They receive a $50 voucher from our partner Onyx Cambridge.

About our Volunteer of the Week award

Cambridge’s favourite eatery will help celebrate our deserving volunteers with a weekly prize of a $50 voucher to spend at Onyx Cambridge in Alpha St.

The award is a terrific way for us to celebrate those who keep our club running all year and to show them what Onyx Cambridge offers its customers.

In all, 20 volunteers will benefit during the season and we seek nominations for worthy recipients.

How to nominate

Please email Onyx Volunteer of the Week nominations and tell us who you think deserves to receive one of our weekly awards, and the reasons why.

Of our 800+ members, parents/guardians and supporters, more than 100 contribute unpaid work to keep our club running.

If you want to join our volunteers, please email media@cambridgefootball.co.nz and let us know how you can help.

* The first 11 recipients of the Volunteer of the Week award were Hamish Durran-Wolff, Jude Bower, Paul Blackstock, Cherie Clark, the D1 men’s team (shared), Mike Woodlock, Craig Clark, Louis Roberts, Stu Anthony, Andrew Taylor and Vanessa Payne.
