About 180 members and supporters had a fun night as the club staged its annual RICOH Quiz Night at Cambridge East School on Saturday.
The fundraising event raised several thousand dollars through raffles, auctions and entry fees to the 8-round trivia quiz.
Compere Camille Guzwell – co-host of The Breeze breakfast show and a club volunteer – and president Peter Martens kept the audience amused with banter and updates as more than 20 teams competed for prizes.
The night opened with a special auction to raise money for club supporter Abby Hartley who is seriously ill in a hospital in Bali. Sarah Thomas donated $700 on behalf of herself and friends who successfully bid to rent a beachfront bach.
The money will go to the Hartley family’s Givealittle campaign to raise funds to pay Abby’s ongoing medical costs.
Attendees went home carrying bags, boxes and various packages, all containing prizes donated by local and regional businesses.
