Cambridge football fans get the chance to see national league players in action again this weekend.
After hosting men’s and women’s national league fixtures in recent years, Cambridge FC will host the opening game of this year’s National Youth League at John Kerkof Park on Saturday (October 13).
It’s between local side Hamilton Wanderers – who won the national league in 2016 (main photo) – and Team Wellington.
The match kicks off at 1pm and ground entry is free.
The youth league is an excellent chance to see some of the country’s best U-19 players in action and Saturday’s game will feature current and past Cambridge FC players.
Current Reds players Josh Clarkin and Jack Portegys have temporarily joined Wanderers to take part in the youth league while former Cambridge player Levi Clark is another familiar face lining up in the match.
Meanwhile, while the youth game is underway, two teams of not-so-youth vintage will be playing a social match between Cambridge and Kerikeri on our number 2 pitch.
