Cambridge goalkeeper Patrick Steele has been named one of the best players at this year’s national youth tournament in Napier.
Steele (17), who plays for Cambridge in the Lotto NRFL second division, was selected in a line-up of outstanding players at the Labour Weekend event.
Steele (pictured) is a national age group Futsal international and plays for Waikato in the National Futsal League (click here for details of Waikato’s upcoming double header). He was also the winner of two Cambridge FC awards at this month’s senior prizegiving.
Another player selected in the Team of the Tournament was midfielder Levi Clark, now with Melville United, who was chosen for last year’s Team of the Tournament when helping Cambridge win the satellite competition.
Winners of this year’s main tournament were Birkenhead United who beat Cambridge 3-1 in their group match.
