Wood finds form with third goal for Burnley in as many games

Former Cambridge player Chris Wood has struck goalscoring form for English Premier League club Burnley, with goals in each of the side’s three matches over the holiday period.

His latest goal provided Burnley’s winner against Barnsley in the third round of the FA Cup after he came off the bench in the 74th minute and scored from the penalty spot in the 92nd minute.

The All Whites striker is helping Burnley fight relegation from the EPL and his goals have provided the team with back-to-back wins for the first time since last September.

Over the holiday period, he found the net against struggling Huddersfield Town, who Burnley beat 2-1, and against West Ham United in a 2-0 victory.

Wood played for Cambridge as a junior and senior between 2002 and 2006 before heading to England in 2009 to start his professional career.
