Reserves held to draw after Oratia level in added time

posted in: Men, News, Northern League

A goal three minutes into added time deprived Cambridge reserves of their first win since April, forcing a 1-1 draw at Oratia United.

Cambridge have suffered a string of losses since April, despite some promising play and close results.

And when Riley Higgs gave the Reds a deserved lead in the second half at Oratia’s Parrs Park, it looked as though Cambridge would return home with three points in the Lotto NRFL second division reserves competition.

Alas, the home side – who are among the division’s leaders – grabbed an equaliser through Josh McDonald four minutes into added time.

Next Saturday (June 29), Cambridge Reserves get the chance to break their win drought when they host lowly Franklin United at John Kerkhof Park (12.30pm).
