What’s in store for our senior men’s and women’s teams this weekend

posted in: Men, News, Women

Most of our senior and youth teams have completed their 2019 competition schedules but a few games remain for spectators wanting to see live football.

Here’s who and where our senior teams are playing this weekend:

Lotto NRFL second division

The Reds have completed their Northern League season.

WaiBOP Championship

Cambridge play their last game of the season when they host Tauranga City at John Kerkhof Park (12.30pm).

Cambridge’s form has slumped over the past month but the side remains capable of beating any team on their day and with little at stake, this last Championship match could turn out to be open and entertaining.

Tauranga arrive in third place and they will secure that position unless they lose by four goals or more. Cambridge can finish in eighth place with a win.

Waikato Division 3/Waikato Division 4

The D1s and D2s have concluded their competition schedules but will play each other in an end-of-season encounter where club bragging rights are at stake.

Matches between the two teams have been hotly contested in years past, with post-match inquests last longer than the games themselves.

No derby is quite as local as two teams whose teams share the same club carpark every week!

The match starts at noon.

Sunday – Women’s Waikato Division 1

Cambridge travel to Otorohanga for their penultimate game of the season (11am kick off).

Their final match is at Huntly Thistle on Sunday September 15.

WaiBOP Federation Youth/Junior Leagues

Our youth teams have completed their programmes.
