No home games this weekend but our teams will be busy in Taupo!

For the first time since last summer, there’ll be no games of football this weekend at John Kerkhof Park – but our club will still have plenty of players in action.

Our club is sending six teams to the prestigious McCartney Invitational Tournament taking place in Taupo over the weekend.

The tournament, named after Taupo AFC’s long-time president John McCartney, has been held annually since 2004 when it began with eight teams.

It is now the largest juniors tournament in the country with dozens of teams gathering from the North Island.

The tournament, at Crown Park, includes sections for boys and girls aged 8-15.

Cambridge will be represented by four boys teams (9th, 10th, 12th and 13th grades) and two girls teams (10th and 12th grades).
