Four Cambridge FC players have been impressive playing in spring and summer national competitions.
Reds midfielder Levi Clark and goalkeeper Patrick Steele were among the members of the Waikato Rapids who won the national men’s Futsal SuperLeague trophy, the first time the title has come to the region.
Steele was also named the winner of the SuperLeague’s Golden Gloves award, as the best futsal ‘keeper in the competition.
Meanwhile, Reds teammates Josh Clarkin and Jack Portegys have both emerged with credit after playing for Hamilton Wanderers in the National Youth League, in which the side came second (on goal difference) behind title winners Auckland City.
Clarkin was runner-up in the league’s goalscoring chart with 10 goals, while Portegys was promoted to Wanderers’ ISPS Handa Premiership squad, enabling him to make his national league debut.
