It was hot and humid in the summer evening sun but Cambridge’s contribution to the annual national Girl’s and Women’s Football Week produced plenty of smiles at John Kerkhof Park.
Cambridge FC’s women’s coach Jamie McKean led a Wednesday evening training session for players as part of the G&W Week, aimed at promoting the female game.
Cambridge has a women’s senior team and is host to a girls’ academy run by the Ricki Herbert Football Academy.
A welcome visitor to the Cambridge session was WaiBOP Football’s Football Development Officer Tracy Wrigley whose role is to help develop girl’s and women’s football in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty region.
