Cambridge’s Northern League squad have become the club’s first players to train under guidelines for Alert Level 2.
Players from the men’s first team and reserves split into groups of 10 or fewer to experience a training session under floodlights at John Kerkhof Park on Tuesday evening (May 19).
While preparing for the new Lotto NRFL season, the Reds are also piloting Cambridge FC’s newly-implemented system for ensuring coaches and players at all levels can work to a list of New Zealand Football guidelines to minimise the health risks of the COVID-19 virus.
Senior men’s and women’s teams are using training sessions between May 19-21 to test the system before the club starts to phase in the return to training by other teams, including senior, youth and juniors.
