A familiar face joined hundreds of other spectators who were supporting boys and girls at Cambridge’s junior grounds … but was that really him?
Parents nudged each other. Was that … you know … HIM?
Yes, it was.
Our visitor was rugby legend Sir Graham Henry who travelled from Auckland to watch his grandson play for Tamahere against a Cambridge side.
The Rugby World Cup winner, well protected against the damp weather, was enjoying the game from the sidelines.
Reminded that All Black Dan Carter started his sports career as a young footballer, Sir Graham said: “I don’t mind what sport they play – as long as they play a sport.”
