Update: How move to alert level 2 affects our club

posted in: Juniors, Men, News, Uncategorized, Women, Youth

The region in which Cambridge FC is located is moving to Alert Level 2 at least until midnight on Wednesday August 26, 2020, as the country tries to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Here’s the impact of level 2 on our club:

Weekend matches

Until we learn otherwise, we expect games to proceed. Watch this website for updates and any changes to fixtures.

Training

Unless our grounds are closed, team training can proceed subject to the NZ Football guidelines for level 2.

Guidance

Our club’s policy is to adopt and adhere to guidelines issued by our national body, New Zealand Football. We will share information from NZF and our regional body, WaiBOP Football, via this website.

Gatherings

These include training sessions and matches.

Level 2 guidelines restrict gatherings to a maximum of 100, meaning each game should be watched by no more than 100 on the sidelines (a gathering does not include players, officials and coaching group).

Spectators should not mingle with those attending games at adjacent pitches, under the guidelines, and spectators should maintain physical distancing of at least two metres.

Contact tracing

We urge visitors to our grounds to use the iDMe contact tracing system used nationally by all football clubs.

Physical distancing

Distancing of 2-metres should be maintained where possible. It is recognised that contact during physical activity will occur but this should be minimised.

Hygiene

Please wash your hands regularly, cough/sneeze into your elbow and try not to touch your face. Players should not share drink bottles and should avoid unnecessary contact such as handshakes, hugs, high fives etc.

If you feel unwell

If you or members of your household are unwell, you should stay at home. You must not participate in physical activity (or leave home) if you display symptoms of COVID-19 or are awaiting test results or have been required to self-isolate.
