First team captain Patrick Woodlock has set a new club record after being named Cambridge FC’s Player of the Year for the fifth time.
Woodlock took the award at the football club’s annual senior prizegiving at the Cambridge Town Hall.
He had previously shared the club record with four-time winner, the now-retired striker Tony McIsaac.
Woodlock first received the Jim Barry Player’s Player of the Year in 2008 but has now won it for the past four seasons in a row.
McIsaac won the trophy in 1993, 2003, 2005 and 2006.
The club’s Women’s Player of the Year was 16-year-old Astrid Howarth who scored 30 goals in this season’s Waikato cup and league competitions.
Howarth also took the women’s Golden Boot for her goalscoring achievements while Dave O’Donnell was awarded the Men’s Golden Boot, having topped the scoring for the club’s Waikato D1 team.
The club’s Personality of the Year was women’s coach and first team player Andrew Taylor while the Club Person of the Year was committee member, caterer and purchasing manager Michaela McQuarters.
Alistair McQuarters was named Supporter of the Year.
