Vanessa is our first Volunteer of the Week award winner

We’ve found our first winner of the club’s Onyx-sponsored Volunteer of the Week award.

She’s Vanessa Payne who led a hardworking team of volunteers to stage last year’s annual Quiz Night, held to raise funds for our junior fields levelling project.

Her drive and enthusiasm ensured it all came together on the big night.

For her efforts, we thought she would be a worthy winner of our club’s first Volunteer of the Week award.

She receives a $50 voucher from our partner Onyx Cambridge.

Accepting the award, Vanessa said: “I’m quite embarrassed because there are many people in the club who deserve to win this all the time — I’m just one of many.”

Cambridge’s favourite eatery will help celebrate our deserving volunteers with a weekly prize of a $50 voucher to spend at Onyx Cambridge in Alpha St.

The award is a terrific way for us to celebrate those who keep our club running all year and to show them what Onyx Cambridge offers its customers.

In all, 20 volunteers will benefit through the season and we’re now seeking nominations for worthy recipients.

* We are currently recruiting volunteers to help run this year’s Quiz Night, planned for August. If you want to follow in Vanessa’s footsteps and help, please let us know.

How to nominate our next award winner

Please email Volunteer of the Week nominations and tell us who you think deserves to receive one of our weekly awards, and the reasons why.

Of our 800+ members, parents/guardians and supporters, more than 100 contribute unpaid work to keep our club running.

If you want to join our volunteers, please email volunteer army and let us know how you can help.

Onyx Cambridge are in their third year as a club partner and their backing has benefitted all sections of the club.
