Reds reserves bag five more goals at Albany

Cambridge are leaders at the top of the Lotto NRFL second division reserves competition after a 5-2 Anzac Day win at Albany United.

Andrew Taylor (pictured) scored a first-half hat-trick – his second in three weeks – to open the way for another large win for Cambridge, their third this season by five goals or more.

Taylor snared his three goals in the 15 minutes leading to the interval, finding the net in the 33rd, 40th and in added time.

That sent Cambridge into the break at Rosedale Park with a 3-1 lead.

In the second half, Nathan Hallum scored Cambridge’s fourth before Toby Hartley finished off the scoring with five minutes to go.

Cambridge are vying with Takapuna for the league lead and are separated only by goal difference. Both leaders have five wins from six games, while Cambridge have scored an impressive 31 goals in their season so far.
