9th-grade Victory players “buzzing” after their day as Reds mascots

It’s been an exciting week for Cambridge’s 9th-grade Victory team.

Today (May 19, 2018) they were in action against Northern United Brazil at Cambridge FC’s Vogel Street grounds, hopefully inspired by their experience a week earlier when the team provided mascots and ball boys for Cambridge’s big ISPS Handa Chatham Cup match.

The Victory players took part in the pre-match walk on with the Reds as they prepared for the cup tie against Northern League first division side Waiheke United.

Coach Matt Malligan said the boys were “buzzing” after the match, during which they served as ball boys and got a sideline view of the action.

The team are keen to do it again but the opportunity to be mascots/ball boys is open to other teams from 9th grade and older, and you can inquire about how to take part by contacting Matt MalliganĀ or by sending him an email through the club’s junior section by emailing Cambridge Football Club juniors.
