All-rounder Paul Blackstock is our latest Volunteer of the Week

posted in: Juniors, Men, News, Sponsors, Volunteers, Women

Paul Blackstock has pretty much done everything during his many years with Cambridge FC.

Player (junior and senior), long-time treasurer and member of the club’s committee and former Club Person of the Year award winner, he’s a vital member of Cambridge FC’s team of volunteers.

This year, Paul and his wife Rebecca (a former club secretary) are cheering on their children from the junior pitch sidelines, while Paul also gets a few games in for the D1 men’s team.

Off the pitch, he’s helped the club adopt New Zealand Football’s new registration system and database, COMET, as well as perform his role as club treasurer.

Paul is our latest winner of an Onyx Cambridge-sponsored Volunteer of the Week award.

He receives a $50 voucher from our partner Onyx Cambridge.

About our Volunteer of the Week award

Cambridge’s favourite eatery will help celebrate our deserving volunteers with a weekly prize of a $50 voucher to spend at Onyx Cambridge in Alpha St.

The award is a terrific way for us to celebrate those who keep our club running all year and to show them what Onyx Cambridge offers its customers.

In all, 20 volunteers will benefit during the season and we’re now seeking nominations for worthy recipients.

How to nominate

Please email and tell us who you think deserves to receive one of our weekly awards, and the reasons why.

Of our 800+ members, parents/guardians and supporters, more than 100 contribute unpaid work to keep our club running.

If you want to join our volunteers, please email and let us know how you can help.

* The first seven recipients of the Volunteer of the Week award were Jude Bower, the D1 men’s team (shared), Mike Woodlock, Craig Clark, Louis Roberts, Stu Anthony and Vanessa Payne.
