Popular Cambridge FC player Miguel Peterle is recovering from a broken fibula and dislocated ankle after being injured in the club’s Loaded WaiBOP Championship match at Tauranga Blue Rovers.

The 25-year-old forward was helped from the pitch at Pemberton Park and an X-ray (pictured) has since confirmed the season-ending injury.

Peterle has been a regular player in various Cambridge senior teams since joining the club five years ago and the Brazilian had only recently returned to the pitch after injury.

Cambridge’s Championship team coach, and club chairman, Steve Thomas said the club and his team mates wished him well for a full recovery.
