Cambridge FC’s U-12 boys team put together a strong performance to beat Hamilton Wanderers 8-1.
Playing at John Kerkhof Park on Sunday (June 24), Cambridge scored twice in the opening 10 minutes to take the initiative, and finished strongly for the victory in the WaiBOP Federation Junior Boys League.
Cortlan Davis-Havill opened the scoring for Cambridge in the 8th minute before Blake Taylor doubled the side’s lead a minute later.
Wanderers pulled back a goal in the 14th minute but Davis-Havill picked up his second for Cambridge in the 18th minute.
Keanan Subramoney extended Cambridge’s lead inside the half-hour.
In the second half, Cambridge put the result beyond doubt quickly as Max Kelk scored twice in the 46th and 49th minutes, taking the score to 6-1.
Davis-Havill netted twice more, in the 53rd and 58th minutes, to take his personal tally to four goals for the match.
