Cambridge’s D1 men’s team have reached the last eight in this year’s Waikato Plate competition and will host Te Aroha Cobras on Saturday July 7.

The quarter final at John Kerkhof Park is scheduled for a 2pm kick off.

The D1 team has been in strong form in recent weeks, winning four of their last four matches and drawing the other 2-2 with Cambridge’s other Waikato D side, the D2’s.

In fact, the last time the D1 team lost in the league was on May 12 when they were shaded 3-2 by their cup opponents at Te Aroha.

The D1 team holds Cambridge’s last hopes of success in this year’s men’s cup competitions with the Waikato A and D2 teams already eliminated from the cup and plate.

The D1 side currently leads the Waikato Division D table on goal difference from Northern United who lost 2-1 to Cambridge D2s in an upset result on Saturday.
