If every cloud has a silver lining, a burst water pipe must surely qualify for a lining of a different sort.
In pre-season, part of the senior Cambridge FC clubrooms were flooded when a pipe burst, causing damage to an area of carpet between the bar and the serving hatch of the club kitchen.
Thankfully, the damage was covered by insurance and assessors decided the club should replace its carpet.
This was done last week when Wilson’s Carpet Court laid new carpet throughout the clubrooms.
Facilities manager Craig Clark said he was delighted with the service from Wilson’s Carpet Court and thanked the company’s Peter Martin for overseeing the project.
Clark reminded visitors and players to look after the new carpet by removing dirty footwear and not wearing boots inside.
