Lee McNally’s passion for football has seen him play and coach at Cambridge FC well into his ‘glorious forties’.
But his desire to help extends beyond the changing room and pitch and he’s been a crucial contributor to the club’s efforts to grow and maintain its facilities.
This month, McNally (known to all at the club as ‘Macca’) again took to damaged goalposts with his welder, fixing them to extend their life (see photo).
For his efforts, McNally – who also coaches the senior men’s A team – is the latest winner of an Onyx Cambridge-sponsored Volunteer of the Week award.
He receives a $50 voucher from our partner Onyx Cambridge.
About our Volunteer of the Week award
Cambridge’s favourite eatery will help celebrate our deserving volunteers with a weekly prize of a $50 voucher to spend at Onyx Cambridge in Alpha St.
The award is a terrific way for us to celebrate those who keep our club running all year and to show them what Onyx Cambridge offers its customers.
In all, 20 volunteers will benefit during the season and we seek nominations for worthy recipients.
How to nominate
Please email Onyx Volunteer of the Week nominations and tell us who you think deserves to receive one of our weekly awards, and the reasons why.
Of our 800+ members, parents/guardians and supporters, more than 100 contribute unpaid work to keep our club running.
If you want to join our volunteers, please email email@example.com and let us know how you can help.
* The first 12 recipients of the Volunteer of the Week award were Hamish Durran-Wolff, Jude Bower, Paul Blackstock, Cherie Clark, the D1 men’s team (shared), Mike Woodlock, Cam and Kere McKinnon, Craig Clark, Louis Roberts, Stu Anthony, Andrew Taylor and Vanessa Payne.
