Cambridge shaded in tight U-13 boys’ youth league match with Melville

Cambridge’s U-13 boys narrowly lost an end-to-end match 4-3 against Melville United in the WaiBOP Federation’s Youth League.

Playing at John Kerkhof Park, Cambridge took the lead in the 4th minute through striker Blake Taylor but then conceded goals to the Hamilton visitors.

Taylor added his second in the 15th minute and Cambridge went into the interval trailing 3-2.

Honours were even in the second half with both teams finding the net once more, and with Taylor completing his hat-trick in the 37th minute.

Meanwhile, in the WaiBOP U-12 boys’ J-League, Cambridge and Hamilton Wanderers drew 4-4 after the sides were tied 2-2 at the break.

The Y-League and J-League take a break for the school holidays, resuming on Sunday May 5.
