Coach and hat-trick hero relieved after Reds score last-gasp victory

posted in: Men, News, Northern League

Cambridge head coach Paul Richardson and hat-trick hero Dylan Blair were happy Reds after their side beat Greenhithe Catimba with two goals scored in added time.

“Lucky to get the win, really,” a modest Blair conceded minutes after the final whistle.

Having scored in the 13th, 90+5th and 90+6th minutes, the Cambridge forward struggled to recall the last time he had scored a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, coach Richardson said his team had shown grit in fighting till the last minute.

In their previous game, they had conceded a penalty in the final minute of added time and “it had bitten us”, he said.

This time, the Reds had kept going and now had 10 league points from their opening four games.
