Coach Richardson: ‘It was one of our better performances of the season’

Cambridge head coach Paul Richardson was philosophical in defeat after the Reds broke their unbeaten run in the Lotto NRFL second division, losing 2-1 at home to Unimount Bohemian Celtic.

“An interesting afternoon at John Kerkhof Park, to say the least,” was his description of a game which saw Cambridge lead the Aucklanders for much of the game, despite being reduced to 10 men in the first half.

“It was one of our better performances of the season,” he said.

Richardson said his young team was outsmarted and outbullied by a more physical side “but we’ll learn from this.”
