It’s going to be a special day for nearly 500 of our children

Some will go to bed in their football gear on Friday night. Others will be so excited they’ll struggle to get to sleep.

And that’s just the parents …

No, seriously, nearly 500 boys and girls are looking forward to Saturday morning.

May 4. 9am. That’s when the 2019 winter football season finally gets underway for Cambridge youngsters.

Among them will be 27 boys and girls aged 4 or 5.

They’re the children registered in our First Kicks programme, for players having their first experience of football.

Older children will be reunited with friends and teammates from previous seasons.

Some will eventually become senior players at our club.

And who knows? Among them might be our next Chris Wood, a player who starts their career at Cambridge but is good enough to captain their national side and play with the world’s best.

It starts this Saturday.

We wish you all a wonderful season and a chance to have fun, make friends and enjoy the beautiful game.

Please be aware of the development taking place opposite our grounds in Vogel St. Contractors are likely to be moving heavy vehicles to and from the site and we ask our visitors to be careful when parking on the street or crossing the road to our club.
