Coach Richardson: ‘First hour was probably our best performance yet’

Cambridge head coach Paul Richardson says the first hour of the Reds game against Claudelands Rovers was “probably our best performance of the season so far.”

After the 4-3 local derby win at Rovers’ Galloway Park, Richardson said he was particularly pleased with the way his side built a 4-0 lead in the first hour.

However, he wasn’t so happy with the way Cambridge let Rovers claw back three goals to set up a finish to the game that was yet another decided by a single goal margin.

The win lifted Cambridge to the top of the Lotto NRFL second division, becoming the fourth team to lead the competition so far this season.
