Former Cambridge player Chris Wood appears to be finding his top form as his Burnley side prepares for the start of the English Premier League season next week.
No Premier League player has scored more pre-season goals than Wood with the striker finding the back of the net on nine occasions in six friendly appearances.
In his latest outing, Wood grabbed a hat-trick against French club Nice who Burnley beat 6-1 in their friendly at Turf Moor.
That followed another hat-trick, scored against Football League side Accrington Stanley.
Speaking to the official Burnley website, the All White striker said: “It’s nice they (the goals) are going in, but ultimately it is pre-season and we are getting our fitness and sharpness in the matches.
“We’re looking good and it’s good building up to the season because it’s only around the corner now.
“It shows that we’re on the right track, which is all it is at the moment.”
Burnley’s opening fixture of the season is at home to Southampton.
