Successful physio partnership lands Supporter of the Year award

A strong partnership between Cambridge FC and local business Vigour Physiotherapy has led to the club awarding a Supporter of the Year award to physio Clarke McKenzie.

The award was announced at the club’s recent Senior Prizegiving event but McKenzie could not receive his specially-engraved glass tankard till this week.

The award caps three years of work by McKenzie and the Vigour team in which they have supplied physio support to the club’s Northern League squads, and senior players throughout the winter season.

Vigour Physiotherapy have also become one of the club’s main sponsors this year.

Clarke McKenzie’s efforts to help the club have not been limited by the terms of Vigour’s sponsorship – his involvement has seen him look for any ways in which he can help the club’s progress.

The club makes annual awards to recognise supporters who have excelled and a similar award was also made this year to veteran D1s player Jim Thomassen.

As well as helping organise his team, Thomassen is always one of the first to volunteer his time and skills when help is needed for club projects or events. Typically, he cooked the meal for 80 attendees at the very event at which he received his award.
