This summer’s Onyx-sponsored Cambridge Summer League has been won by eLEMONators (photographed) after they beat Brocelona 4-1 in an entertaining final at John Kerkhof Park.
The match was a re-run of last year’s final in the annual 5-a-side competition in which eLEMONators beat their rivals 1-0.
Some players in the winning team were also members of the AIDS squad who won the 2018 Cambridge Summer League title.
Selecao finished third overall, beating The A Team in a play-off for that spot.
Overall, almost 40 teams and about 350 players took part in the Wednesday evening 5-a-sides over summer, continuing a tradition of fun and friendly football in a competition that started more than 30 years ago.
Our club thanks all those who took part and especially the volunteers who make the competition possible. These include draw organiser Harry Bomans, Richard Crafts and Craig Clark (who help run the event each evening) and Graham Clark who line marks the pitches.
