‘Mini festival’ gives girls and women chance to celebrate this Wednesday (Feb 19)

Cambridge FC are hosting a three-hour ‘mini football festival’ as part of a national campaign to promote football as a great sport for girls and women.

Girls and women are invited to come to John Kerkhof Park at 5pm on Wednesday February 19 to check out what’s happening in women’s football as well as our plans to run teams in this year’s junior, youth and senior competitions.

It doesn’t matter whether you are new to our club, new to our area or even new to the sport, you’re welcome to come along.

Between 5pm and 6pm, our event organisers will arrange some appropriate football-related activities, and answer any questions about the sport or our club.

From 6pm-8pm, members of our women’s team will be training as part of their pre-season preparation – a chance to watch or even participate in their session.

The mini-festival is part of New Zealand Football and WaiBOP Football’s week-long promotion (February 14-23) of female participation in football.
