WaiBOP Football’s staff and board have urged the region’s 100+ affiliated clubs and schools to have a successful season, despite the delays and difficulties getting it underway.
In a message to the football community, Chief Executive Karyn Walters thanked clubs and schools for their “hard work getting the season off the ground in such exceptional circumstances.”
She acknowledged WaiBOP staff members Catherine Clark and Graeme Blake, in particular, for being at the frontline of setting up competitions.
Though our sport is set to return to play, she said it was important to be aware of guidelines under Alert Level 1.
“I would urge you to remember that although we are now in level 1, we still need to be vigilant about hygiene and cleaning and your members must continue to use iDME for contact tracing,” she said.
“The Waikato Bay of Plenty staff and board look forward to seeing everyone out on the grass and wish you all a successful season.”
