Cambridge FC president Peter Martens has been recognised for his contribution to the region’s football with a Life Membership of WaiBOP Football.
The accolade was well-received by attendees at WaiBOP Football’s Annual General Meeting on Monday June 22.
It’s the second award this year for Martens who received a Queen’s Service Medal (QSM) in the New Year’s Honours list for his services to football.
Martens joined Cambridge FC as a junior player in 1957 and has given more than four decades of service as a volunteer, as a referee, administrator and as the club’s president for the past 30 years.
