Cambridge supporters will closely watch results in next weekend’s WaiBOP Championship games – despite their team not having a match.
Saturday’s only two fixtures in the competition will complete a round of 11 games in which all clubs have played each other.
The competition will then split into two groups of six clubs, with the upper group playing off for the title and the chance to finish the season with a high ranking.
Cambridge need bottom-placed Hamilton Wanderers to upset seventh-placed Whakatane Town on Saturday (August 29) so they can go into the top six grouping.
If Whakatane draw or better, Cambridge will be seeded into the lower group for the rest of the season.
Saturday’s games
Whakatane Town v Hamilton Wanderers
Claudelands Rovers v Tokoroa
The draw for the remainder of the season will be available early next week, and the competition is set to end on Saturday October 3.
