Cambridge FC’s Camille Guzzwell has added another feather to her football cap.
She’s a familiar face at Saturday junior football where she’s an enthusiastic supporter and many more enjoy her weekday breakfast show on Waikato’s The Breeze which she co-hosts with Stu Smith.
Now she can add football pundit to her CV!
Only 48 hours before kick-off, the search was on to find a co-commentator for the November 11 match between WaiBOP and Canterbury United Pride in the ISPS Handa Women’s Premiership.
In a first for Cambridge, SkySports were to live-stream the match and use the highlights and post-match interviews in their nationally-broadcast football show.
Guzzwell re-arranged her Sunday, researched the game and turned up ready to go alongside match commentator Dwayne Signal.
She added local flavour and carried out post-match interviews.
And when the pressure of live broadcasting was over?
“Oh, I enjoyed it,” she said. “It’s good to get out of your comfort zone.”
- WaiBOP’s next game at Cambridge is against Northern Lights on Sunday November 29 at 2pm. Entry is free.
