Jamie McKean has been re-appointed as Cambridge FC’s women’s coach for the 2021 season.

Confirming the appointment, Cambridge FC’s Technical Director Ricki Herbert said McKean had brought together a promising squad in 2020 and was keen to build on the team’s progress next year.

“We’re in a much better position now than a year ago and Jamie’s full of enthusiasm for next season,” Herbert said.

McKean took over a small and inexperienced squad early in 2020 and set out to consolidate their position in Waikato Women’s Division Two.

Instead, the side exceeded expectations, finishing runners-up in the competition after a long unbeaten run in the second half of the season.

The side is well-positioned to seek inclusion in 2021’s first division.
