Well-attended first session gets Reds’ pre-season training underway

The Reds’ 2021 pre-season programme is underway with a well-attended training session at John Kerkhof Park.

Head coach Paul Richardson used the evening as a muster for returning and aspiring Northern League players as well as the chance for players to stretch out on the pitch.

The programme to prepare for this year’s Lotto NRFL season includes:

Strength and conditioning

A programme will start at 6.30pm on Thursday January 21, 2021, led by the club’s strength and conditioning coach, Harriett Steele.

Steele, who has Bachelor of Science degree with double majors in Sports & Exercise Science, and Physiotherapy, has worked with New Zealand U-17 and U-20 age group players and as a strength and conditioner for New Zealand Football.

Training sessions

The Reds will train twice a week, between 6.30pm and 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at John Kerkhof Park. The first session will be held on Thursday January 21, 2021.

Reserves/U-23 squad

This year’s Northern League division two reserves league will be focused on helping develop U-23 players.
