History has repeated for 5-a-side specialists eLEMONators who have won the Onyx Cambridge Summer League for the third year in a row.
They won the February 3 final 2-0 against Brocelona, the team they beat in the 2019 and 2021 finals.
This time, eLEMONators (pictured) scored a goal in each half to clinch the competition which began in November.
Daniel Clarkin opened the scoring late in the first half, finding the net in a one-on-one with the Brocelona ‘keeper.
In the second spell, a stunning Jakob Lind solo effort delivered the second goal.
Both goalkeepers, Shaun Bax and James Cakebread, made outstanding saves.
Last year, the eLEMONators won 4-1 and in 2019 they beat their Brocelona rivals 1-0.
And some members of eLEMONators can claim to be fourpeat winners, having played for 2018 victors AIDS.
Overall, 40 teams and more than 360 players took part in the Wednesday evening games over summer, continuing a tradition of fun and friendly football in a competition that started more than 30 years ago.
Thanks to all those volunteers who helped make the competition possible.
