It took United till the 37th minute before they took the lead through Jack Duncan but the goalrush came in the first quarter of an hour after the interval.
Goals from Boon Ozawa (46′, 53′), Joshua Redfearn (59′, 60′) and Nicolas Zambrano (62′) pushed Auckland United to a 6-0 lead.
Substitute Zambrano added two more to complete a hat-trick while Regon Murati complete the scoring in the 84th minute.
Next Saturday, the Reds return to league football with a home match against Beachlands Maraetai in the Lotto NRFL second division. The match at John Kerkhof Park kicks off at 3pm, with the U23s playing at 12.30pm.
