Cambridge FC has hosted a workshop for junior, youth and senior coaches, and senior players, who want to learn techniques to reduce the risk of football injuries.
The workshop was held at the main clubrooms, John Kerkhof Park, on Monday June 14, 2021.
This workshop followed similar events held at our club last year as part of our efforts to upskill coaches and to reduce the risk of injury among players.
We urge coaches to attend these events because coaches are required to undertake the Fit4Football programme and Cambridge FC has organised the workshop so its coaches won’t need to travel to attend other workshops held in our region.
The workshops are part of efforts by New Zealand Football to promote the Fit4Football programme to clubs throughout the country.
Facilitator of the workshops will be Louise Trappitt, who is the Player Welfare Officer for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty. She’s a former Olympic rower and was the strength and conditioning coach who helped prepare the New Zealand U-17 women’s team who came third at the 2018 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Key to the programme is the FIFA 11+ warm-up programme, developed internationally and over many years, and now proven to reduce the risk of injuries to players of all ages.
