U-23s beaten 4-2 by high-flying United on Mangere Mountain

Cambridge U-23s have been beaten 4-2 by second-placed Onehunga Mangere United in their latest Lotto NRFL second division U-23 competition.

Playing at Mangere Mountain, the sides were evenly matched for the first half, turning round at 1-1.

The Aucklanders scored three second-half goals to secure the league points, ensuring they will finish no worse than second in the competition and they can still win it if leaders Fencibles United slip up in remaining games.

Scorers for Cambridge were Matthew Jordan and Ben Dixon, both finding the net with volleys.

The U-23s’ next fixture is against UniMount Bohemian at John Kerkhof Park on Saturday August 21 (3pm).
